Planning RV camping near Pedernales Falls starts with deciding where you want to sleep and how you will visit the park. Camping inside the state park and staying at Cottonwood Creek in Dripping Springs are separate options with separate reservations. Cottonwood can be a full-hookup base for a driving day trip; it is not inside or adjacent to the state park.
Choose between a state-park stay and an RV park base
Texas Parks and Wildlife lists campsites with water and electricity at Pedernales Falls, along with primitive camping. Check the specific site description when considering an overnight state-park reservation. Cottonwood offers full-hookup RV sites with 30/50 amp electricity, water and sewer at its own Dripping Springs property.
The decision depends on your trip. You may want to spend most of your time inside the state park, or combine a park outing with other plans around Dripping Springs. Compare the location, site services and booking terms for each option. A Cottonwood stay does not include state-park admission.
Reserve your visit separately
TPWD says Pedernales Falls can reach capacity and recommends reserving ahead for day visits or camping. Use the official Pedernales Falls page to check alerts and follow its reservation links. Confirm park entry before building the rest of your day around it.

Cottonwood is at 2951 FM 165 in Dripping Springs. TPWD lists the state-park address as 2585 Park Road 6026, Johnson City, and provides mapping guidance on its website. Use the official entrance directions and check a current route from your RV site.
Decide whether you will leave the RV parked and use a separate vehicle for the outing. Do not assume a route suitable for that vehicle will be equally convenient for your full towing setup. If you plan to travel with the RV, check access and parking requirements with the destination before leaving.
Choose activities and check conditions
Pedernales Falls offers hiking, picnicking and bird watching. Swimming and wading are prohibited in the falls area; check TPWD’s designated-area guidance and current conditions for any water activities. Read the official alerts before your visit.
