The Cottonwood field notes
How do I plan a Hill Country trip from Cottonwood?

Start here
A practical way to connect your RV stay with days out around Dripping Springs.
Choose one main plan for the day.
Begin with the reason for your outing: a state park visit, time in Wimberley, a wedding or seeing friends. Choose the actual destination address and check the route from 2951 FM 165. Do not assume different Hill Country towns are interchangeable travel times.
Keep reservations separate.
Your Cottonwood RV stay does not include attraction admission. Check state park reservations, venue arrangements and activity hours directly with each destination. For Pedernales Falls, review the official park page before the trip; some areas and activities have restrictions.
Plan how you will get back.
If you’re attending an evening event, arrange return transport and check that your arrival at Cottonwood is already settled. New arrivals after 7 PM or after dark need advance discussion with management. Keeping the RV parked for an outing may simplify your day, provided you have suitable transport.
Leave room to change the outing.
Weather and access conditions can change outdoor plans. Have an alternative that fits your interests and travel time, and check official destination information before leaving. Your full-hookup site gives you a familiar place to return to at the end of the day.
